Narrow the market before collecting
Choose one location, category, and search intent such as rental supply, used equipment pricing, service leads, or newly posted vehicles. Local marketplaces vary heavily by geography, so broad mixed-market exports can hide the signal you need.
Write down the filters and collection time with each dataset. That context makes later price and supply comparisons reproducible.
Keep stable listing references
Preserve the source listing URL or identifier, title, location, price text, posting time, and collection timestamp when available. These fields support deduplication and manual verification.
Do not identify a new lead from title and price alone. Reposts, edited listings, and duplicated offers can otherwise create repeated alerts or misleading supply counts.
Monitor changes with snapshots
After a small run produces useful rows, save the input as an Apify Task and schedule it at a cadence appropriate for the market. Compare snapshots to distinguish new listings, persistent inventory, changed prices, and removed offers.
Send alerts only after deduplication. A daily run should notify on genuinely new or materially changed listings rather than every row returned by the scraper.
Use marketplace data responsibly
Listings can be incomplete, stale, fraudulent, or removed without notice. Review the original page before contacting a seller or using a price in a business decision.
Respect website terms, privacy obligations, and applicable laws. Avoid prohibited automated outreach, sensitive inference, or republishing entire third-party listings without permission.
